Policy and Public Affairs Manager

Given the scale of sight loss in the UK, the impact of an ageing population, and the need for cutting-edge ophthalmology research; policy and public affairs is a strategic priority for the charity. We need to influence change for the long-term benefit of patients and people affected by a visual impairment or blindness, including the need to influence the public debate on the wider availability of funding for eye research and improving access to effective therapies and new treatments. 

Fight for Sight has been growing its sphere of influence with policy makers, parliamentarians and funders over the last few years, and we are looking for a proactive individual to take this work forward.

As an experienced policy and public affairs specialist, you will drive the charity’s work in the areas of policy and public affairs, campaigning to improve the lives of patients with sight loss, influencing Government health policy, and leading on engagement with key external stakeholders such as industry, NHS and charity partners.

This is a Full Time, permanent position, based in our offices in London. Salary £38,910 per annum + benefits including 10% non-contributory pension.

Marketing Manager

Our new marketing and fundraising strategy centres around demonstrating the personal impact of sight loss on the lives of people living with eye conditions, and the breakthroughs that are already being achieved through the ground breaking research we fund.

As Marketing Manager your priorities will include:
  • Taking the lead in embedding our new brand and visual identity to demonstrate the need for more research that will change the lives of those living with sight loss.
  • Improving our digital and wider presence to engage new supporters and meet our fundraising goals as well as providing the latest information on eye conditions and eye research. 
You will be a key member of the Marketing and Communications Team. You will work with colleagues from all directorates, supporting them with their marketing needs, be the first point of contact for all day-to-day marketing queries and manage a number of key suppliers including copywriters, designers, media planners and digital agencies. You will also manage a Marketing and Communications Officer.

This is a full time, permanent position, based in our offices in London. Salary £40,000-£42,000 per annum + benefits including 10% non-contributory pension.

Media & Communications Officer

As Media and Communications Officer your priorities will include:
  • Supporting the Media Manager in placing proactive media stories across national, regional and trade titles and managing reactive enquiries
  • Writing up stories for the website around supporter, fundraising and latest research news
  • Liaising with celebrities and high profile supporters to create opportunities that help to raise awareness of our work
  • Delivering communications and marketing messages to key stakeholder groups, including people with sight loss
  • Coordinating our case studies database.
You will be a key member of a communications and marketing team. You will work with colleagues from all directorates, supporting them with their communications and media needs and be a point of contact for day-to-day media queries.

This is a full time, permanent position, based in our offices in London. Salary £25,000 per annum + benefits including 10% non-contributory pension.
