Fight for Sight fundraisers get on board

16 June 2010

A team of intrepid Fight for Sight supporters took part in the Leamington Raft Race on 13 June to raise funds for eye research.

The team, led by Debbie White of the Fight for Sight Warwickshire committee, stormed home in 8th place beating 23 other teams and raising over £1,000 for Fight for Sight.

Fight for Sight is the UK's leading charity dedicated to funding world-class research into the prevention and treatment of blindness and eye disease. The charity's current research programme is focusing on age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, glaucoma, cataract and the causes of childhood blindness.

Annu Mayor, Fight for Sight's Director of Fundraising, was impressed by the team's adventurous spirit: "We are really grateful to Debbie and her team for literally wading in to support Fight for Sight. The funds raised by our regional committees is so important to Fight for Sight and enables us to continue to fund our vital programme of eye research."
