Theo’s Future – the fund set up to support research into the rare genetic condition of the retina Leber’s congenital amaurosis (LCA) – is benefiting from a contribution of £1,000 thanks to the energy and commitment of Frank Gallagher, a close friend of little Theo’s grandfather. The inspiration for the fund is two-year old Theo Holroyd who was born with LCA and is now blind.

Commenting on his run, Frank said: “I ran this year for a very special cause and a very special little boy, Theo, the grandson of one of my closest friends. In raising funds for research into LCA, I have been touched by the wonderful support and generosity I have received from family and friends, enabling me to add £1,000 to the research fund.’

Annu Mayor, Fight for Sight’s Director of Fundraising, said:

“The research into LCA is vital. It provides hope for the future for Theo and the other children in the UK born with this congenital condition.”

“We at Fight for Sight are so grateful to Frank and all his generous sponsors. Their contribution really can help to make a difference.”
