Congratulations to Fight for Sight ambassador!
Fight for Sight, the UK’s leading charity dedicated to funding world class research into the prevention and treatment of blindness and eye disease, is delighted to congratulate Professor John Marshall of King’s College London on his election as a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences. Professor Marshall is one of Fight for Sight’s two Ambassadors – appointed in recognition of their contribution to eye research and to the charity’s work.
Commenting on the award, Michèle Acton, Fight for Sight’s Chief Executive, said: “Professor Marshall’s pioneering work on laser technology for refractive surgery and research into the mechanisms underlying age-related macular degeneration and other eye conditions have had a hugely beneficial impact on the treatment of patients.”
“We are delighted to see that the distinguished contribution he has made to the prevention and treatment of blindness and eye disease has been recognised by this prestigious award.”
Fight for Sight’s other Ambassador is Professor Peng Tee Khaw of the UCL Institute of Ophthalmology and Moorfields Eye Hospital who is also a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences.
