Senior Trusts Manager

About the role

This role plays a key part in developing and managing relationships with existing and potential grant making trusts in order to meet agreed income targets in line with Fight for Sight's strategy and aims.

Your priorities include:

  • Developing and delivering a fundraising plan to generate income from grant making trusts and foundations against targets with the Director of Fundraising & Engagement
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with administrators and trustees of trusts

Key Duties and responsibilities
  • Working with Fight for Sight funded medical researchers and Fight for Sight's Director of Research to develop major applications in support of targets and to report on the ongoing progress to donors
  • Implementing and, if applicable, overseeing the implementation of the fundraising plan through the submssion of accurate and appropriate applications to grant making trusts
  • Maintaining up to date, accurate records on paper and on the database (Raiser’s Edge)
  • Keeping up to date with developments in trusts including preferred areas of benefit and application procedures of new trusts formed
  • Providing regular reports on trust fundraising to the Director of Fundraising & Engagement
  • Other reasonable duties as may be reasonably required by the Director of Fundraising & Engagement, on either a short or long term basis
Person Specification

Skills, knowledge and experience

  • Significant experience of trust fundraising in an established charity
  • Experience of developing and executing trust fundraising plans including budgeting and delivering against budget
  • Experience of building relationships with Trustees and administrators
  • Experience of researching trusts and their criteria and targeting applications accordingly
  • Experience of writing well researched trust applications
  • Experience of communicating scientific research to a lay audience is desirable but not essential for this role
  • Experience of working for a medical research charity is desirable but not essential for this role
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including the ability to write compelling trust applications
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Computer literate
  • Raiser’s Edge experience

Salary - £38,000 - £42,000
