John LeePrimer Fellowships – Launched 20 August 2019
The fellowship offers £60,000 over a 12 month period to early stage ophthalmologists undertaking ground-breaking vision research and represents the first step for ophthalmologists to obtain a PhD. The scheme is run in partnership with the Royal College of Ophthalmologists. Applicants must be a member of the College.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on Thursday 7 November 2019. Shortlisted candidates will be interviewed on Tuesday 4 February 2020.
The Small Grants scheme is open all year. The scheme offers up to £15,000 for projects up to 12 months. These awards are no longer limited to clinical research studies. We now encourage any pilot/feasibility study in the field of ophthalmology and vision science. Fight for Sight’s website contains the most up to date information regarding available opportunities and new partnerships.

We also welcome projects addressing achromatopsia or any other eye condition.

PhD studentships offer supervisors up to £100,000 for a three year project addressing research in all fields of ophthalmic and vision research relevant to Fight for Sight's charitable aims. Projects are expected to start in October 2020. We are delighted to announce a new partnership with Versus Arthritis and our continuing partnership with the Masonic Charitable Foundation.
