BBC Radio 4 Appeal

We are extremely proud to be a benefiting charity of the BBC Radio 4 Appeal and have enlisted the support of the Rt Hon Baroness Betty Boothroyd, a former Speaker of the House of Commons.

The BBC Radio 4 appeal was first broadcast on Sunday 5 August 2018 at 07:54.

This will be the third Fight for Sight appeal Baroness Boothroyd has presented, she is passionate about the need for research to prevent sight loss. As she puts it:

“The work of Fight for Sight is so critical. Research into eye conditions can transform lives, and yet it is sorely underfunded. I welcome any opportunity to help change that.”

The theme of this year’s Radio 4 appeal is glaucoma and age-related macular degeneration (AMD). Baroness Boothroyd discusses the current state of research into these conditions, as well as sharing the story of Rosemary, whose family has experienced sight loss for three successive generations.

The appeal is available to listen to online.

So please tune in and invite your friends and family to do the same. Let’s make this year’s BBC appeal the best ever!
