Leave the most precious gift of all - a world that everyone can see.
We've come so far - making groundbreaking discoveries that have achieved what many thought was impossible. Research is proving that sight loss doesn't have to be inevitable. But our fight is far from over. We won't stop until nobody has to face going blind. Could your legacy be a world without sight loss?
Since 1965, we've been funding pioneering research that has changed millions of lives. Today, no other UK charity funds more cutting edge science to transform the lives of people affected by sight loss than we do. We currently have £8m invested in active research, funding over 150 projects around the UK - projects that would otherwise be neglected.
Right now, our fight has reached a tipping point. We're on the cusp of breakthroughs that could finally create a world that everyone can see.
Artificial intelligence has already started identifying drugs that may reduce sight loss from age-related macular degeneration and is helping to make earlier diagnosis possible. Gene therapies are now offering real hope that sight loss could be overcome. A whole world of possibility is beginning to open up.
Every year, gifts in wills fund up to half of the life-changing research we fund. Without them, the research breakthroughs we’ve funded would not have been possible and a world without sight loss is further from our grasp.
We won't stop until nobody needs to face going blind. Join us in the fight for sight and help us achieve something remarkable.
“For the last eight years I have had the honour of Charing the Board of Trustees at Fight for Sight. For me, this fight has always been personal. My mother began losing her sight in her seventies. I watched as her world closed in around her. At the time, there was nothing that could be done. Nine years ago, she passed away. She was my inspiration to begin fighting for a world that everyone can see.
In this time, I've seen the progress we're making. Every day, we're making strides towards a world without sight loss. And as I come to the end of my tenure, we are on the cusp of breakthroughs that will transform lives. That's why I am leaving a gift to Fight for Sight in my will. And as I hand over the reigns, I want to ask one last thing - will you do the same and make sure our fight continues?”
