Crafty Beckenham Families fundraise for Fight for Sight
Hundreds raised to help fund pioneering eye research.
Creative Beckenham families knitted, sewed, crocheted and glued at a Garden Craft Fair on Sunday 6 September, raising £750 for Fight for Sight. The event was hosted by mum-of-four Kate Cameron, whose own family is affected by a genetic eye condition.
The craft fair involved fun activities for local children, including making glasses out of brightly-coloured pipe cleaners, which was kindly supported by Splatter Make.
Kate said “I’m so grateful to everyone for making the event such a success and for donating so generously. The money raised will help Fight for Sight to fund vital research into better treatments and cures for people who are blind or visually impaired. It’s this research that gives hope to families like mine and to so many others."
Catherine Woodhead, Director of Fundraising at Fight for Sight added “Congratulations to Kate Cameron and family for holding such a successful event and raising so much for Fight for Sight. We rely heavily on supporters, like this family, to help fund our projects and we really wouldn’t be able to do it without them.”
