Other ways to donate

  • A gift in memory

When a loved one passes away, donating to a charity in their name is a touching way to create a lasting tribute to them and help commemorate their life.

If you make a gift to us, it will help support vital research into blindness and eye disease in their memory. If you would like to involve friends and relatives in celebrating the life of a loved one please get in touch:

  • Create a virtual memorial

    Their memory lives on

You can create an online memorial for your loved one that gives friends and families – no matter where they are in the world - a place to share memories, send pictures, express grief and raise money for a cause that was close to their heart.

We’re working with MuchLoved, a registered charity that helps you create a unique and beautiful virtual memorial to your loved one. It only takes a couple of minutes to set up and personalise. It can be kept online for ten years and is completely free.

Through MuchLoved, our supporters can remember a loved one while raising funds for pioneering eye research.

  • Gifts in celebration

Mark your special day by helping to give the gift of sight.

If you have a special occasion coming up – a birthday, anniversary or wedding – you could ask for donations to Fight for Sight in lieu of gifts.

You can set up your own fundraising page through our Justgiving page. It’s easy to do and a great way to encourage friends and family to donate online. We can also provide you with a collection box and all the balloons and information you'll need.

    A golden example: The Rushbrooks
Rosemary and Roger Rushbrook celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary at a special lunch at Elm Farm Hotel in Norwich and an anniversary party at their local cricket club.  As a patient of the Norfolk and Norwich eye clinic, Rosemary experienced the impact visual impairment had on her enjoyment of everyday life. In lieu of golden anniversary gifts, the Rushbrooks asked friends and family to donate to us and raised over £600 for eye research.

  • Payroll giving

Set up an automatic donation to Fight For Sight from your regular salary for as little as £4 a month. Giving in this way provides us with invaluable regular income we can rely on to plan more effectively for long-term projects. It also means you can donate more but spend less thanks to GiftAid – a charity tax scheme. For example, if you donate £4 a month, we’ll receive £5.

To set up a donation through your payroll, simply click here and complete the one page document or speak to your payroll department.

Alternatively, contact our fundraising team who would be happy to help out.

  • Donate your shares

Giving shares is very tax efficient as you can usually claim income tax relief on the value of your donation. The shares also are exempt from a Capital Gains tax.

It’s really easy to donate shares.
