Walkers taking part in the Thames Path Ultra Challenge along the River Thames

About the event

Date: Saturday 11 to Sunday 12 September 2027
Location: Putney Bridge, London
Activity: Walk, jog or run
Distance: 25km, 50km, 75km or 100km

Over 3,000 adventurers will join the Putney Bridge start, and the full 100km route heads upstream to Henley along the famous Towpath. It’s through Richmond, Hampton Court, Runnymede and Windsor, with wonderful scenery to a riverside finish.  With 25km and 50km options also available – there’s a Thames Path Challenge for everyone!

Take part as an individual or as a team.  You’ll get full support all the way, plenty of food & drink, optional camping & transfers, a special medal, t-shirt and celebration finish!

By taking on this challenge you will be helping us to save sight and change lives. Go behind the scenes at a Cardiff Lab to discover how we're helping scientists discover new treatments that could one day stop sight loss.
