We are requesting capacity-building funding to enhance and expand our organisation's ability to deliver impactful, user-led services.
Specifically, we aim to strengthen our volunteer programme by recruiting, training, and retaining more volunteers with lived experience of sight loss. These volunteers play a vital role in providing peer-to-peer support, assisting with frontline service delivery, and offering 1-1 support to new service users adjusting to sight loss. This expansion will enable us to build capacity, reach more individuals, and enhance the quality and range of our services.
We also seek funding to develop an outcomes and impact measurement framework, fully integrated with our data management system. This will enable us to better evidence the difference we make, monitor progress, and identify areas for improvement. A robust framework will improve decision-making, enhance our ability to influence strategic planning, and strengthen engagement with commissioners by demonstrating the value and impact of our services.
Further, this funding will help us refine our co-design and service user consultation processes, ensuring that service users remain at the heart of our work. By better understanding the emerging needs of those we support, we can adapt and develop services that are responsive, relevant, and effective. Strengthening our consultation practices will also enhance our ability to engage with commissioners, build awareness, and position our organisation as a key provider of services for people with sight loss.
This funding will help us future-proof our organisation, ensuring we can meet growing demand, deliver high-quality services, and maintain a user-centred approach while informing long-term strategic developments to create meaningful and lasting impact.
