The impact of the work we fund.

We are one of the UK's largest independent funders of research into scientific and social change related to vision loss. Discover the impact of our research and read stories of people whose lives have changed.

A world where everyone has the best possible eye health and the same opportunities, regardless of vision loss.

Theory of change

How is Fight for Sight working for people who are blind and vision impaired?

We're driven by a powerful narrative: that when someone receives a diagnosis telling them they will lose their sight, they face two urgent questions.

These are 'can this be stopped,' and 'how do I live my life?'

By funding scientific and social change research and related programmes, we can deliver solutions.

We're funding scientific research that will Save Sight and social change that will Change Lives.

Discover. Build. Connect.

We aim to fund discoveries that help us understand, diagnose, prevent, and treat vision loss—and what it means to be blind or vision-impaired.

Our funding helps build a sustainable pipeline of talented researchers and a robust sector.

We multiply the impact of our funding by bringing people together to work on scientific research and social change.

Funding social change

We fund research into the unique lived experiences of individuals who are blind or vision-impaired. What we learn informs our work to ensure that everyone has the same opportunities regardless of vision loss.

Social change
Rory, a white man stands in a field about to throw a cricket ball. He's smiling determinedly and wearing a blue baseball cap.

I don't want blind and vision impaired people to feel like they have any fewer opportunities than sighted people, or that they have any less confidence than sighted people, any less reason to leave home, or the ability to speak to other people than sighted people do.
