About the challenge

Take on the thrill of a lifetime and leap from a plane up to 13,000ft in the air.

After a short briefing you will be ready to jump attached to your instructor using a specially designed dual harness. The instructor will control the freefall, parachute opening and landing, leaving you free to enjoy the view and the sensation of freefall. 

By taking on this challenge you will be helping us to save sight and change lives.

Please note: Fight for Sight reserves the right to not approve the jump if the fundraising target has not been met in time. This is extremely rare as other options are usually explored before this action is taken.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I have a vision impairment, can I take part?

    Yes. Please get in touch to discuss your individual needs and we can liaise with the Skydive Centre - events@fightforsight.org.uk

  • How old do I need to be?

    The minimum age is 16 years.  A letter of parental consent is required for those aged under 18 years. 

  • Is there a weight or height restriction?

    The maximum weight limit is 15 stone (95 kg) for males. There is no height limit for skydiving, however your weight should be in proportion to your height.
    Anyone wanting to a tandem skydive will be assessed by the Chief Instructor and/or instructor on the day of the jump, it is their responsibility to make the final decision to allow or refuse to go ahead with the jump.

  • Does it take place in all weathers?

    If inclement weather or technical problems with the aircraft or instructors prevents skydiving on the day booked, you will be able to rebook a mutually convenient date free of charge. Refunds will not be made under these circumstances.
    Should the weather be unsuitable for jumping on the day it is your responsibility to return to the parachute centre on another occasion(s) if necessary, to complete your jump. You must rebook within 90 days of each unsuccessful attempt.

  • When is the sponsorship deadline?

    You need to have reached your fundraising target 2 weeks before the skydive date for us to cover your jump costs.  If you are close to you target, you could top up the difference on your online fundraising page.  If you don't reach the target in time, then you will need to cover the cost of your jump on the day. 

  • What happens if I'm not able to raise the fundraising target?

    We will provide you with handy tips and resources to help you reach your target. You can also get inspiration from our Fundraising Ideas. If for any reason you are struggling with your fundraising, please get in touch with our events team who will happily support you - events@fightforsight.org.uk

  • When will I receive my Fight for Sight top?

    You will receive your branded top in the post no later than 2 weeks prior to the skydive date. If you’d like your top sooner then let us know - events@fightforsight.org.uk
