Step up to the summit!
Rise to the Challenge, One Step at a Time

Step into the spirit of adventure and solidarity with our Step Up to the Summit challenge—the first leg of our “Summit for Sight” campaign to support Fight for Sight’s pioneering sight-saving research and impactful community projects.
Whether you choose a week, a month, or your own timeframe, every step counts towards reaching your own summit while helping someone else find theirs wherever you are - at home, at the gym or even in the grocery store!
Just as climbing a mountain demands persistence, vision-impaired people tackle everyday obstacles with courage and resilience.

"Knowing that I’m raising funds to go towards research, that I’m helping to increase awareness, and that I’m giving back to everyone that’s given to me. It definitely gives me a sense of pride and it gives me a big hope for the future that I’m making a difference."

How You Can Get Involved
Here are some creative ways to make the Steps Challenge your own—and bring others along:
- Lunch-break mountaineers: Challenge your colleagues (virtually or in-person) to “climb” Ben Nevis during your lunch hour over a month. Friendly rivalry never looked so meaningful!
- Family milestone march: Set up a home-based race to Kilimanjaro over a fortnight, with everyone logging their daily steps—grandparents to grandkids!
- Club or community teams: Create a Steps Challenge relay—each person contributes a portion of the total Everest steps.
- Social media motivation: Share your daily step-count photos or screenshots, tag a friend to continue the climb, and watch your mountain grow - one step at a time.
Choose your own mountain:
Mount Fuji (Yoshida trail)
