About the event

Date: Saturday 26th to Sunday 27th July 2027
Location: Scarborough, Yorkshire
Activity: Walk, jog or run
Distance: 10 mile, 25km, 50km or 100km

Set out from basecamp in Scarborough onto the Cleveland Way, past Scarborough Castle and charming Robin Hood’s Bay before reaching the 50km mark in the shadows of Whitby Abbey.  For full 100km Challengers you’ll head back towards Scarborough along the Esk Valley and classic moorland scenery.  The 10 mile and 25km Loops start and finish in Whitby – a dramatic finish line.

Sign up as an individual or as a team.  You’ll get full support all the way, food & drink, a special medal, t-shirt and celebration finish.  

By taking on this challenge you will be helping us to save sight and change lives.

Costs and fundraising options

  1. Charity Sponsorship – pay a small registration fee and achieve the required fundraising amount* (we will pay for your place)

  2. Self Fund with Fundraising – pay for your place and fundraise whatever you can for Fight for Sight (we pay a small admin fee)

*At least 50% of the minimum sponsorship must be with the charity 4 weeks prior to the challenge.  Failure to meet the deadline may result in cancellation of your place by Fight for Sight.  The remaining 50%, and any extra, must be with Fight for Sight by 4 weeks after the challenge.

    The Ultra Challenge Series has over 20 amazing events across the UK where you can walk, jog or run your chosen distance.  Whether you’re looking for a stunning coastline, or a trail through wonderful countryside, you can find an event to suit you.

  • I have a vision impairment, can I take part?

    Yes. Please get in touch to discuss your individual needs and we can liaise with the event organisers - events@fightforsight.org.uk

  • Can you help with fundraising suggestions?

    We will provide you with handy tips and resources to help you reach your target. You can also get inspiration from our Fundraising Ideas. If for any reason you are struggling with your fundraising, please get in touch with our events team who will happily support you - events@fightforsight.org.uk

  • What donations don't qualify for Gift Aid?
    • Donations made from a company, on behalf of someone else or a group of people

    • Donations to a family member or friend participating in an event where the charity is contributing to their costs

    • Money raised from collections

    • Money raised from a sale of goods e.g. cake sale, car wash or sale of raffle tickets

  • When will I receive my Fight for Sight top?

    You will receive your branded top in the post no later than 2 weeks prior to the event date. If you’d like your top sooner then let us know - events@fightforsight.org.uk
