Visit two countries in one unforgettable challenge!

This breathtaking trek organised by Global Adventure Challenges covers 43km through the Mont Blanc region of the Alps. Only five days in total, this challenge is ideal for those with less time to take away from home.

“Photographs can’t really portray the real thing. I am back at work this morning but my head and heart are still in the Alps!”

Your trek will certainly challenge you with lots of ups and downs, but the rewards are the pleasure of seeing spectacular views this part of Europe has to offer – from stunning cliffs, to gorgeous waterfalls running from glaciers!

Frequently Asked Questions

  • I have a vision impairment, can I take part?

Please get in touch to discuss your needs and the best way that we can support you with any additional requirements - events@fightforsight.org.uk

This is a very individual case, and Global Adventure Challenges would need to know how your visual impairment affects you, your fitness levels and walking speeds (uphill). Their policy is to encourage and support as many people as possible to take part in their challenges, but they may not be suitable for all. On registration you will be required to complete a medical questionnaire, depending upon your answers they may need more information from you, and may request a GP signature to say you are fit to take part. Global Adventure Challenges reserves the right to refuse a booking if they feel they are unable to accommodate particular needs of an individual.

  • Can I bring my guide dog?

Due to the challenging terrain, Global Adventure Challenges wouldn’t recommend taking a guide dog up a mountain as the dog would be at risk of getting injured or sunburnt.

  • How fit do I need to be?

The Alps Trek is designed to be challenging but achievable by anyone, as long as you fitness train beforehand. You will be trekking for 3 consecutive days (covering approximately 43km), so the fitter you are, the more you will enjoy this challenge. A complete training guide will be supplied at registration.

  • How old do I need to be?

The minimum age for this trek is 18 years old (if you are aged between 14 – 17 years you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian).

  • What is included in the package?

All flights and transfers, 4 nights accommodation, all meals on the trek (starting with dinner on Day 1 through to breakfast on Day 5, including a celebratory evening meal in Chamonix on Day 4), experienced guides and your challenge medal!

  • What if I have dietary restrictions?

All meals will be provided from dinner on Day 1 through to breakfast on Day 5. Global Adventure Challenges cater for most dietary requirements as long as they know in advance – just fill in the appropriate section on your registration form.

  • Do I need specialist kit to take part?

Once you register to take part you will be supplied with a kit list of what to take. Apart from some broken in trekking boots and waterproofs you do not need any specialist kit.

  • What support is available on the trek?

There will be a strong support team with a professional local and Global Adventure Challenges leader and a full, comprehensive first aid kit will be taken.

  • Can I extend my trip and stay in France for a holiday?

Yes you can, but this is subject to Global Adventure Challenge being able to amend your booking from the flights inclusive package to our ground only package. For further information on how the ground only packages work, please read the guide to ground only challenges.

If you have already registered and would like to request a change to our ground only package, please contact customer.care@globaladventurechallenges.com.

  • How do I raise £2,800?

There are so many ways you can smash your fundraising target, and our events team is always here to help you. The first step is to set up your online fundraising page, and ask for donations. Check in with Emma and Ruth by emailing events@fightforsight.org.uk or check out our Fundraising ideas

  • How soon do I need to sign up?

The Alps Trek takes place once a year in September 2026.  Places are limited, so if you would like to take part it is recommended that you register rather than later to avoid disappointment.

Once registered you will automatically create your own hub where you can complete your personal details and medical questionnaire. You will also find a Welcome Guide with a timeline of when to expect to hear from Global Adventure Challenges, itinerary, challenge information, training guide and kit list.
