Mali Fernando MBE
Group Head of Digital Experience and Accessibility at HSBC

Mali is a multi-award winning digital leader in banking. He was recognised in the King’s New Year’s Honours list of 2023 where he received a MBE for his contribution to banking and technology. He currently is the Group Head of Digital Experience and Accessibility for HSBC overseeing HSBC’s digital eco system for all customers and staff across the world. He has held a variety of senior and strategic roles most recently as the Group Head of Product and Transformation for HSBC’s Commercial Banking and Investment banking businesses. Mali has a background in digital strategy, transformation and product having worked up from an entry level position to earn his seat at the C-suite table. Mali is passionate about helping organisations create an effective digital ecosystem, getting the best out of emerging technology and leveraging the power of technology to make the world a better place.
