Why volunteer in Ealing?

Being a Fight for Sight volunteer puts you in the mix within the Ealing community. Volunteers at our Ealing shop help out with all sorts of tasks, from using the till to merchandising, processing donations to styling the window. At our friendly shop we'll help you to make the most of your skills, at the same time as picking up new ones.

Our Ealing team includes people of all ages and backgrounds. Some of our volunteers help out to meet new people, some are keen to build their CVs and get a reference for paid employment. Whatever your reason for volunteering, you'll get a warm welcome at Ealing.

Volunteering at our Ealing shop can help you...

  • Give your CV boost

As well as being sociable and a feel-good thing to do, volunteering at our Broadway shop is fantastic for giving your CV standout or getting you on the right path if you've just graduated from school or college. • Learn to process donations (invaluable to charity retail)
    • Build customer service skills and experience
    • Train to use an EPOS system; till training is an incredibly transferable skill for people wanting to work in any retail capacity.
    • Understand Gift Aid, which an increasing number of charities are signed up to.
    • Train on safeguarding, which is really valuable for understanding how organisations look after each other.
    • Benefit from online training in subjects like IT, retail and management skills, which we’re offering as part of our volunteering roles.
