We're a bold, ambitious charity whose vision is nothing short of Save Sight. Change Lives. This is our north star, and it involves everything we do. Find out what makes us truly unique.

1. We can help you make a big difference
Whatever you can give, whether it is a small amount or a large one, or a few hours of your time to fundraise, it all makes a big difference. Recently, we've launched our Champions programme, which is a movement to stop sight loss together. By giving regularly, we can keep funding ground-breaking scientific research because:
- We don't accept sight loss as an inevitable part of old age.
- We don't accept that future generations of families with an inherited condition should lose their sight.
- We don't accept that if you have another condition, such as diabetes, you will go on to lose your sight
“Many new therapies are experimental. You can't go straight into a patient, so you have to do these early studies to understand how they may work.”
2. We're bold
Recently, we crafted our Theory of Change. In it, we articulate the change we want to see:
A world where everyone has the best possible eye health and the same opportunities, regardless of vision loss.
It's a simple statement but a rich one. We say 'everyone' and we mean it.
Everyone should have the best possible eye health, whether that involves preventing future generations of people with an inherited condition from losing their sight, ensuring that individuals living with vision loss today have access to less invasive treatments, or halting the progression of an eye disease.
For the world? Yes, because the scientists we fund are crafting world-class research that scales.
We know that early seed funding from us unlocks future funding opportunities.
Everyone should have the same opportunities regardless of vision loss - that's why we're funding projects that deliver a big impact to people living with vision loss.
3. We're developing tomorrow's researchers
To ensure the UK's brilliant minds continue to work towards scientific research that can Save Sight, much of our funding focuses on building talent.
For example, we hosted our first Early Career Research Network event in 2025, which brought together early career researchers to network, share information and build connections.
4. We fund scientific discoveries
We fund early discovery science that helps us better understand, diagnose, treat and prevent vision loss.
The work we fund is often the beginning of a pipeline of research that goes from early stages to big breakthroughs and clinical trials that directly impact people living with vision loss.
5. We're driving 'team science'
Together, we can go further, faster. Fight for Sight aims to bring researchers together to tackle some of the biggest challenges facing people impacted by vision loss.
From a scientific perspective, we are funding the UK Vision Research Network - a first for the UK. The UKVRN will bring together brilliant minds, connected by their determination to tackle the biggest challenges in vision research through innovation and collaboration.

“To address today's big vision loss challenges, we need to be creative in bringing researchers together to pool expertise and share resources in a collaborative approach spanning many years."
6. We share insights, generously
Fight for Sight shares insights and evidence widely to foster new partnerships and collaborations, adopt proven ideas, and drive the policy and systems changes needed to move forward more quickly.
By disseminating insights, convening experts and attracting onward investment and widespread adoption of impactful work, we multiply the impact of our funding.
7. We put the fun in fundraising
Whether you're a runner, enjoy a coffee morning and fancy jumping out of a plane, we've got an event to suit you. Recently, we've launched our 'Summit for Sight'.
You'll have the opportunity to step out for sight loss by walking as many steps as you can, take on the Three Peaks Challenge, or climb Mont Blanc.
8. We're driving social change
We fund social change projects that enable people who've had a sight loss diagnosis to rediscover their inner confidence and independence, and get out into the world.
The projects we fund span a breadth of activities from enabling people to play blind sport to going out and walking in nature.
9. We're accelerating change
Our 'acceleration fund' is bringing together organisations that have proven ways they make a difference to the lives of people living with vision loss with those who want to repeat their success in another location.
10. We have some amazing people leading us
Fight for Sight is a community of colleagues. Everyone who works here aspires to our values statement, which is that: Together, we are bold, tenacious, informed, and optimistic.
We have the support of an amazing Board of Trustees, and are led by an Executive Leadership Team driven by passion and purpose.
