We're funding discovery science to help better understand, diagnose, prevent and treat vision loss. A membership with us can fund projects tackling the leading causes of blindness and refractive errors, including myopia. 

Plus, we're funding organisations across the UK that design innovative support to help individuals discover independence and confidence after a diagnosis of vision loss. For example, we're funding Metro Blind Sport, which has supported Javid to rediscover his passion for cricket.

Accelerate our vision to Save Sight. Change Lives. 

We invest in research across all stages of vision loss: understanding, prevention, diagnosis and treatment.

And we're investing in researchers, from early-career researchers to established scientists. We're also bringing scientists together from across disciplines and institutions so we can find solutions faster.  

We also fund research into social change, seeking to understand the unique experiences of being blind or vision-impaired. We use these insights to inform the bright minds designing ways to change lives for everyone impacted by vision loss.

Connecting people to Save Sight. Change Lives.

We're bringing people together to: Save Sight. Change Lives.

For example, through the UK Vision Research Network, we will launch a doctoral programme to help us better understand, prevent, diagnose and treat vision loss. We're also hosting an Early Career Researcher event, which will give people working in vision loss the opportunity to come together and discuss shared challenges and opportunities. 

Through our social change work, we commission insight into the unique experiences of people who are blind and vision impaired.

We then use these insights to fund multiple ways of tackling issues like loneliness and isolation - and we share the insights we gain from this funding.
