Our fantastic eCommerce team, who usually run our ebay, Vestiere Collective and Depop shops, delivered another standout moment this weekend. Friday 5th December through to Sunday 7th, saw the fourth retail pop-up of the year, which took place in partnership with Charity Super.Mkt in Coal Drops Yard, King’s Cross. And it was humming!
Across three days, Adam, Lauren and George — backed by keen colleagues, Louis and Josie — stayed tenacious in the face of the cold weather and brought in over £8.5k to help us put change in sight for people living with vision loss. And the magic of Christmas helped us to reach that lofty total, since sales included a whopping 78 Christmas jumpers, which will doubtless be worn for Christmas Jumper Day on December 11th. Take a look at Lauren and George's favourite festive jumpers here.
On Saturday afternoon there was a particular highlight when SantaCon 2025 passed directly by our stall, adding some welcome festive chaos to the vibe. Another feel-good moment came when a vintage toy robot, donated by our own Chief Income Officer, Phil Beavan, found a new home with a very happy customer.
Ultimately every pound raised will help us fund the brilliant minds and bright ideas advancing the science that will better understand, prevent and treat vision loss. This is how we deliver long-term change for people who are blind or vision impaired; together, with tenacity and style!
A bit about Christmas jumpers...
We were stopped in our tracks by this sign at the Charity Supermkt. event, sharing how 12 million Christmas jumpers are bought each year. It made us proud to be selling our own pre-loved Christmas jumpers both at the stall and in our shops.
If you're taking part in Christmas Jumper Day here's hoping you bought a jumper that will support a good cause, such as putting change in sight for people living with vision loss.
Fancy lending a hand?
Our next pop-up is scheduled for April. Fancy lending a hand on the stall (and snapping up some bargains while you're at it)?
